Confidential – Privately Held Real Estate Investment Firm About the Company Our client is a privately held investment and management firm focused on syndicated real estate investments. The firm manages a portfolio of commercial assets valued at approximately $1 billion, working closely with partners, investors, and lenders to deliver long-term results. Position Overview Our client is seeking a hands-on Chief Financial Officer to lead the company's accounting and finance functions. While the role carries the CFO title, the responsibilities are heavily focused on accounting operations, financial reporting, and managing investment-related financial activities. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise along with a deep understanding of real estate syndications, investor reporting, and private investment structures. Key Responsibilities Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and cash management Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP Manage investor distributions, capital calls, and related processes for syndicated real estate investments Partner with external accountants on tax filings and compliance Build and maintain financial models for investment performance and forecasting Develop and enforce internal controls and accounting policies Serve as the primary contact for banks, auditors, and financial partners Provide financial analysis to support acquisitions, dispositions, and refinancing Lead budgeting and forecasting for both the company and individual investment vehicles Work directly with ownership on strategic financial planning and ad hoc projects Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred 8+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, ideally in real estate investment or development Strong knowledge of real estate syndication structures and investor reporting Proficiency with accounting software and Excel-based financial modeling Experience in a private company environment; comfortable in a lean, very hands-on role Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
