is looking for a
Technical Designer
to join our well-known retail brand on a roughly 10-month contract! This role is 40 hours per week and will be onsite in Beaverton, OR.
Technical Designer Responsibilities: Research and develop products from conception to retail to meet the needs of accounts and consumers Collaborate with Marketing/Design to interpret design concept into 2- dimensional patterns Consult with product triad to clarify concepts and lend pattern-making and fit technical expertise Create first models from concept pictures Incorporate styling and fit changes determined by design/marketing/development during fit sessions or design process Inspect and critique samples Create and/or revise product specifications with construction details for production Ensure specifications detail construction methods that optimize profitability
Technical Designer Qualifications:
5+ YOE as a Technical designer in pattern making or adjusting patterns, can start from scratch or adjust existing patterns for women’s athletic wear Portfolio: Shows their experience and pattern knowledge, examples of previous relevant work, speaks to the complexity of their pattern design work Role is potentially athlete facing, can do functional work and be representative the brand Knowledge of garment construction for knits - knowledge of wovens could work as well, but knits is preferred Performance wear, outerwear, dress and skirt experience are a plus Bachelors Degree and minimum of 5 years directly relevant work experience Note: One of the following alternatives may be accepted: PhD or Law + 3 yrs; Masters + 4 yrs; Associates degree + 6 yrs; High School + 7 yrs.
