Tariff Compliance & Logistics Specialist

maintains the company trade compliance data base with accurate classification (HTS, ECCN) and country of origin globally. This person will also audit import entries and export document, work with internal department to ensure process controls and liaison with customs brokers and transportation providers. Duties and Responsibilities Assign classification for all components, Sub-assemblies and finished goods to include HTSUS, COO determination and ECCN classification and maintain a central data base with this data. Assures compliance with all US Government agencies related to Importing and Exporting through auditing entry & export documents, maintain entry/export records as required, reviewing internal processes and reporting areas of risk to be addressed. Annual review and validation of NAFTA compliance at SKU level. Coordinate with Mexico facility to maintain these records for both import and export purposes. Provide NAFTA certs to customers upon request in accordance with company policy. Provide trade compliance support to operations, customer service, procurement, legal, regulatory and all other functional areas as work flows and processes are developed in these areas. Maintain transportation logistics KPI metrics analysis with select service providers. Report issues and work directly with vendors to implement corrective actions as needed. Continuously review transportation requirements and work with service providers on process improvement and cost savings opportunities. Provide real time solutions to transportation issues that would impact product schedule and/or customer order fulfillment. Act as liaison for customer service, sales and purchasing organizations with our customs brokers, freight forwarders and transportation service providers to provide support for problem solving as well as continuous improvement opportunities. Work with select service provider to maintain Denied Party Screening records and assure we are following a robust process and maintain compliance with this requirement. Access ACE government portal to review entry data, run reports, assure ISF compliance, review broker activities and extract summary and/or detail reports as needed. Other duties as required by management.

Minimum Requirements: Associates degree required 2+ years working in logistics and/or transportation industry with experience with International shipping or Receiving Operations.

Preferred Requirements: Bachelors degree preferred Basic knowledge of export and import regulations and required documentation. Understanding of LTL, FTL and Small Parcel shipping and Documentation requirements. Working knowledge of US Customs regulations as well as Import/Export documentation. Understanding of logistics options for transportation services. The successful candidate will support decisions around LTL, FTL, Parcel as well as Air/Ocean transportation requirements for international shipments.
