Job Duties:

  • Drive gas and diesel vehicles from ½ ton vans to semi-tractor trailers weighing 80,000 lbs.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections as required by law
  • Supervise and train inmate workers
  • Monitor work crew activities, enforce security, and maintain sanitation
  • Oversee loading, delivery, and installation of ACI products
  • Supervise warehouse activities performed by inmates
  • Prepare trip tickets and maintain CDL certifications/medical compliance
  • Ensure security and prevent damage or theft during transit
  • Verify quality of goods and ensure quality installation
  • Interface with customers and vendors during pickup, delivery, and installation
  • Operate material handling equipment including hand trucks, electric pallet jacks, and forklifts (up to 11,000 lbs.)
  • Consult with management regarding quality control issues
  • Attend training and staff meetings
  • Prepare reports as needed
  • Drive on State business
  • Perform other related duties

  • Read maps or use electronic navigation
  • Operate forklifts safely
  • Load and unload products securely
  • Follow all department policies and work in a prison environment
  • Work extended hours with inmate crew

Selective Preferences:

Minimum of three years experience driving semi-tractor trailers or box trucks, and supervising warehouse or transportation operations.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Valid Arizona Class “A” or “B” CDL and DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate. Passing background, drug test, and physical exam are required. Driving employees must maintain valid licenses, complete training, and pass driver record checks. All employees must take TB tests annually and complete E-Verify.
