Director of Campus Dining / Ownership Position Overview The General Manager will oversee the daily operations of a 10,000-square-foot food court located on a vibrant Boston college campus. This role requires a highly motivated and experienced hospitality professional with strong leadership skills, operational expertise, and the ability to create an engaging, efficient, and profitable dining experience for students, faculty, and visitors. The General Manager will be responsible for driving sales, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, fostering vendor relationships, and leading a dynamic front- and back-of-house team. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership

: Manage day-to-day food court operations, including multiple vendor partners, guest services, and campus community engagement. Financial Management

: Develop and manage budgets, monitor P&L performance, control costs, and implement strategies to achieve revenue and profitability goals. Team Development

: Recruit, train, and mentor staff across service, operations, and support roles; foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Vendor Relations

: Act as the primary liaison with food vendors and concession partners, ensuring contractual compliance, brand consistency, and high-quality offerings. Customer Experience

: Maintain exceptional standards for cleanliness, service, and overall guest satisfaction, ensuring the food court is a welcoming and efficient destination. Compliance & Safety

: Enforce health, safety, and sanitation regulations in accordance with campus, city, and state requirements. Campus Engagement

: Collaborate with college administration, student organizations, and event services to integrate food court operations into campus life. Marketing & Promotions

: Partner with marketing teams to create student-focused campaigns, events, and promotions that drive traffic and enhance the dining experience. Strategic Planning

: Anticipate campus dining trends and student needs to innovate menus, technology use, and operational practices. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 5–7+ years of management experience in food & beverage, hospitality, or high-volume food service operations. Strong financial acumen with demonstrated success in managing budgets, forecasting, and P&L. Proven ability to lead, train, and inspire diverse teams in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service. Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and compliance standards. Experience in a campus, food hall, or multi-outlet environment a plus.
