Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist with a focus on pediatric care in a NICU setting. The ideal candidate should have at least two years of experience and will be responsible for providing critical respiratory care to neonates and pediatric patients.
Key Responsibilities
Administer respiratory therapy treatments for neonates and pediatric patients.
Conduct respiratory assessments and develop care plans.
Operate and troubleshoot various types of respiratory equipment.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in the NICU and pediatrics.
Assist in high-risk deliveries and manage unstable patients.
Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years in a pediatric NICU setting; first-time travelers with a strong skill set are accepted.
Certifications:
RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
BLS (Basic Life Support)
Skills:
Proficient in ABG interpretation, high-frequency jet ventilation, ECMO management, and pediatric critical care.
Charting System Experience:
Familiarity with Epic is preferred.
Patient Ratio Experience:
Comfortable managing up to 12 patients per shift.
Unit Details Patient Age Groups:
Neonates, Pediatrics, Adults
Daily Census:
6-7 ventilated patients
Number of Rooms:
12
Interdisciplinary Support:
Collaborative work with respiratory services in a Level 4 NICU.
Compliance & Additional Information
Must have a valid MD or Compact License at the time of submission.
Two satisfactory professional references required: one supervisor/manager and one charge RN.
Local rules apply: Candidates' permanent residence must be 50 miles or more from the hospital.
Travelers will be first to float within the hospital.
Travelers required to complete labs within 72 hours of signing the contract.
