We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to join our corporate team located in Nashville, TN! In this role, you will support various people-oriented functions including employee relations, payroll administration, safety and compliance, and employee development. This role will facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding, payroll and benefits, and ensure company policy and procedure adherence. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of HR best practices and labor laws with the ability to approach resolutions with a people-oriented focus to foster a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and provide guidance on company policies and procedures
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; periodically reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new-hire orientations, and exit interviews, including data entry in human resources information systems and audits for accuracy and compliance
  • Prepare paperwork and schedules for smooth new-hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience
  • Process weekly multi-state payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees, including daily time card audits, paid time off approvals, and leave compliance
  • Respond to employees’ inquiries regarding their paychecks, including any questions on possible deductions, accruals, and other payroll-related information
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including new hire enrollments and qualifying event changes through ADP WFN software
  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart, and contribute to policy development
  • Partner with site managers to address workforce issues, performance management, and employee relations
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including workers' compensation, OSHA, and construction labor laws
  • Administer employee benefits, workers’ compensation claims, and leave management
  • Assist in performance management processes and employee development initiatives
  • Support employee engagement and retention initiatives tailored to multi-site, multi-state workforce

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Communications, or related area
  • Minimum three years of experience working in Human Resources with focus on generalist duties including payroll administration
  • Minimum six months of full cycle payroll processing experience in ADP WFN software
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex data to various audiences
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize tasks
  • Aptitude for problem-solving and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies
  • Advanced knowledge of ADP WFN and ability to learn new technical systems, when necessary
