Candidates must be local (reside within one hour of Lansing, MI)


We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support enterprise-level technology initiatives. This individual will work closely with stakeholders to gather, document, and communicate clear, testable business requirements. The role includes facilitating requirement-gathering sessions, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring alignment with project objectives. The Business Analyst will also act as Scrum Master for assigned projects and will utilize Azure DevOps extensively to manage backlogs, epics, features, and user stories.


  • Elicit, document, and validate business requirements that are clear, unambiguous, and testable.
  • Facilitate requirement gathering sessions with stakeholders to identify impacted business processes and document requirements.
  • Maintain project backlogs during Agile projects and work with product owners to prioritize throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor scope and requirements to ensure alignment with project objectives and benefits.
  • Provide input for Build vs. Buy decisions and impact analyses of scope or requirement changes.
  • Ensure project deliverables and documentation (as required for the BA role) are completed, reviewed, and approved in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Collaborate directly with UI/UX designers, developers, database administrators, QA testers, and other team members to ensure understanding of requirements and system functionality.
  • Support quality assurance efforts by ensuring requirements are testable and by participating in review of test cases and results.

Requirements

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in enterprise or public-sector environments.
  • 5+ years of Quality Assurance knowledge, including writing testable requirements and supporting QA teams.
  • 5+ years of experience with Azure DevOps, including creating and managing epics, features, and user stories, and moving work items through the lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of BA, QA, and DEV roles and responsibilities in an Agile environment.
  • Experience mapping “as-is” and “to-be” business processes and creating related documentation.
  • Familiarity with product roadmap development.
  • Proficiency with BA tools such as Figma, Visio, or similar diagramming/modeling tools.
  • Understanding of project management methodologies, particularly Agile and Scrum.
