A confidential, established manufacturer of high-reliability electronics that supports aerospace, defense, and space programs is seeking an experienced
Test Engineering Manager
to lead test and process engineering at their Bohemia, NY facility. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll drive test innovation, failure analysis, and process improvements that directly impact mission-critical products.
What You’ll Do
Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of test and process engineers and technicians.
Oversee design, development, and optimization of
test systems, fixtures, and test software .
Drive failure analysis investigations for in-house and customer-returned products; provide data-driven recommendations to improve reliability and reduce failures.
Develop and document new processes, SOPs, and travelers to support production and test operations.
Collaborate with design, product development, procurement, manufacturing, and product assurance to resolve production issues and optimize product trade-offs (cost, performance, schedule).
Manage project plans, resource allocation, and schedules for introduction of new test technologies and process changes.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness in both test and assembly areas.
Research and recommend new testing methods, equipment, and capital investments to expand test capabilities.
Qualifications
Education:
B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Applied Sciences required; M.S. or advanced technical training desirable.
Experience:
Minimum
7+ years
in test or process engineering within electronics manufacturing;
2+ years
in a supervisory/lead role.
Proven experience designing, implementing, and supporting
test systems and fixtures
and performing failure analysis.
Familiarity with
hybrid and PCB manufacturing
and high-reliability electronics production.
Knowledge of MIL standards (e.g., MIL-STD-883, MIL-PRF-38534 / 38510) and
IPC-A-610
is highly desirable.
Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Ability to make data-driven decisions under pressure and manage competing priorities.
Must be a U.S. Person
(or permanent) or otherwise able to qualify under export control requirements.
