Job Title:

Registered Nurse – Mother Baby (Contract)
Schedule: Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide safe, evidence-based care for antepartum and postpartum patients and newborns.
• Monitor and manage patients on Magnesium Sulfate.
• Float to related units (11A/11B Postpartum/Couplet Care & Nursery) as needed.
• Perform patient assessments, develop care plans, and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Deliver education to patients and families regarding care plans and discharge instructions.
• Adhere to Mount Sinai’s Relationship Centered Care model.
• Conduct hourly rounding and utilize Purposeful Hourly Rounding (PHR) framework.
• Document accurately in EPIC system to meet hospital and regulatory standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure patient safety protocols.
• Perform charge nurse duties and assist in patient throughput.

Required Qualifications: Education: BSN required (no exceptions) Experience: Minimum 2 years RN experience At least 2 years in antepartum/postpartum care Experience with Magnesium Sulfate administration (must be listed on resume) Newborn Nursery experience required Travel RN experience preferred but not required Certifications: Active NYS RN License (in good standing) BLS (AHA) ACLS (AHA) NRP (AHA)
