Experienced Labor & Delivery RN needed for acute hospital L&D unit. Nurse will provide comprehensive care to obstetric patients from admission through postpartum, including high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and newborn care. Must follow ACOG guidelines and manage patient ratios of 1:2. Duties include labor management, fetal monitoring, antepartum and postpartum care, and support for breastfeeding and newborn education. Position involves floating to postpartum/mother-baby couplet care as needed, occasional on-call, and every-other-weekend rotation. EPIC charting required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage labor and delivery processes, including inductions, high-risk deliveries, and C-sections
- Perform fetal monitoring, APGAR scoring, and neonatal stabilization
- Provide postpartum care including hemorrhage management and lactation support
- Administer medications such as magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, prostaglandins, and antihypertensives
- Assist in surgical procedures including tubal ligations and D&Cs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, respiratory, pharmacy, social services)
- Float to mother/baby couplet care as requiredAx
