RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work in a 39-bed progressive care unit (23 step down beds, 16 med-surg beds)
• Patient ratios: 1:3-4 for step down patients, 1:4-6 for med-surg patients
• Day shift: 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, 4 PCTs
• Night shift: 1 charge nurse, 10 RNs, 4 PCTs
• Work with equipment including lifts, chest tubes, cardiac drips, stable ventilated patients, and trachs
• Electronic Medical Record system: Cerner
• Perform typical procedures including trach care, chest tubes, and wound dressing changes
• Float to other med-surg and progressive care units as needed
• Weekend requirement: 6 Saturday or Sunday shifts in a 6-week period
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
• Must have 2 years nursing experience and experience working with trachs
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Previous Cerner experience preferred
• Must demonstrate flexibility and high level of clinical competence
