RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Adult

Job Details:

• Must have previous travel experience with most recent 3 assignments in acute care medical surgical units in medium to large organizations
• Handle up to 8 patients at any one time with a mix of total patient care
• Night shift nurse-to-patient ratio 1:6, may go as high as 1:8
• Must be willing to float between medical surgical and orthopedic units
• Participate in care team rounds to assist with discharge planning
• Provide bedside shift reports
• Work with variety of surgical cases including robotic hysterectomy, robotic prostatectomy, colon resection, mastectomy, thyroidectomy, open hysterectomy, bariatric surgery, leg revascularization, lower extremity amputation, and wound management
• Administer common medications including IV antibiotics, pain control medications, nausea medications, Heparin, and Lovenox
• Operate equipment including Alaris IV Pumps, CADD PCA, Bard Mini-Infusers, Pyxis, ceiling or EVA lift, and wound manager vac
• Required skills: IV insertion, PICC/central line management, and vascular device access/care
• No long term care nurses accepted
• Quick start position available
