Overview
The Warehouse Associate/Customer Loadout Associate safely and efficiently loads and unloads merchandise from customers and provides excellent customer service. This role supports the supply chain and helps deliver what customers want, when they want it.
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload merchandise from customers.
- Provide excellent customer service during loading/unloading.
- Wrap, load, and secure merchandise into customer vehicles without damage.
- Able to confirm that the customer receives the correct merchandise.
- Operate a RF scanner and handle related paperwork as needed.
- Identify and read reports, tickets, and UPC labels.
- Assist other departments when business permits.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
- Follow AFW safety policies and procedures and promote safety awareness.
- Manually manipulate furniture and merchandise to and from trucks, racking, containers, forklifts, and vehicles; lift up to 100 lbs frequently, with the ability to handle up to 250 lbs.
- Split shifts and flexible scheduling including holidays and weekends as required.
Qualifications
- Ability to safely operate a company-approved safety knife.
- Able to adhere to AFW asset protection policies and identify/prevent fraud.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform correct lifting/team lifting techniques.
- Ability to operate and use a hand truck.
- Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance.
- Physical ability to maneuver merchandise in a warehouse environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, and bend for 8 hours or more daily.
- Constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back.
- Lift, lower, push and pull merchandise up to 100 lbs frequently; ability to handle up to 250 lbs.
- Ability to maneuver in confined and congested areas.
Physical Work Environment
- Fluorescent lighting and concrete flooring.
- Climate conditions affected by outside environment; exterior noise and temperature fluctuations.
