Overview
Data Analyst position at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, part of NYU Langone Health. The Data Analyst will work directly with Dr. Lauren Taylor, in the Division of Healthcare Delivery Science, supporting data management and analyses across federally sponsored projects. The role requires planning, designing, and implementing statistical analyses and the ability to work autonomously in an academic medical center environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance to analysts and researchers in accessing and analyzing datasets
- Maintain existing data collection and analysis systems in support of the research protocol
- Under supervision by the Division Director and guidance of the lead biostatistician, conduct basic statistical analyses and present findings
- Support development of publications and conference presentations, including drafting publications, writing abstracts, performing literature reviews, and creating tables and visualizations
- Collaborate with staff to automate standard, recurrent data acquisition, management, analysis and reporting
- Design and conduct analyses using data from various sources
- Create descriptive data summaries with visualizations and written interpretations for diverse audiences
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in health care economics, health care policy, applied statistics, data science, biostatistics, or a related field; or a Bachelor’s degree with relevant work experience. Strong quantitative and programming skills in Stata, SAS, and/or R. At least 2 years of work or research experience in a relevant setting. Ability to select and apply appropriate statistical methods and to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team. Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of biostatistics principles; epidemiology study design, statistical analysis, and causal inference
- Proficiency with data processing methods to generate, organize, and display statistical and research data
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving and critical thinking
- Planning and organizational skills; personal motivation
