Job Summary: Provide security detail as outlined in the post orders and establish working relationships with customers, local law enforcement and fire departments. Security personnel should maintain a professional image, demonstrate excellent customer service, and stay aware of surroundings to note activity in the assigned area.

Responsibilities

• Control of entrances and movement of pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
• Patrol of buildings and perimeters.
• Escort of material and personnel.
• Inspection of security and fire exposures.
• Special assignments.
• Be on time and report to post in full uniform.
• Maintain professional image by greeting customers, visitors and employees in a polite and friendly manner.
• Be proactive in knowing all revisions to post orders and information distributed by the customer and AFS.
• Patrol physical property or maintain fixed post position, report suspicious activity, and investigate accidents and criminal acts.
• Monitor cameras or equipment as outlined in post orders.
• Know emergency policies, procedures and regulations to respond to alarms, incidents and emergencies.
• Complete Daily Activity Reports, Log Book entries, Incident Reports and other relevant reports.
• Recommend improvements for safety and loss prevention based on daily activities.
• Have knowledge of life safety systems, fire panels, CCTV systems, and related equipment to complete assignments. Ensure safe operation of elevators and access doors; identify authorized personnel for maintenance.
• Ensure training and compliance guidelines are met as outlined by AFS and other regulating bodies.
• Communicate daily with Security Supervisor about new issues or changes to consider or implement.
