Systems Integration Lab Engineer (Military Vehicles)

Type of Position:

This is a contract-to-hire role. While the position begins on a contract basis, most team members are converted to direct hire within 6 to 12 months, depending on individual performance and business needs. Please note that conversion is not guaranteed and may vary by project timelines and workload.

Candidate Requirements:

This role is ONLY open to US Citizens. Permanent Residents (Green Card Holders) and any other work authorizations are NOT permitted here as this role requires eligibility to obtain a secret clearance (a secret clearance is only open to US Citizens). To be clear, a clearance isnt required to start (but all candidates must be eligible to obtain one eventually). Due to the nature of this role (working for a defense contractor tied to the federal government) candidates will need to pass a drug screen (which will include cannabis). There are no exceptions to this (eg: a medical card).

Job Location:

Sterling Heights, MI (on site role)

Compensation:

$55.00/hr to $60.00/hr to start. Overtime paid at 1.5x over 40 hours.

Benefits:

Available (health insurance, dental, vision, 401k, etc) benefit eligibility will begin the 1st of the month after 30 days of employment. This role will have 7 paid holidays and 10 days PTO (PTO accrues over time). In going direct hire, there will be significantly more PTO.

Overview:

HRU Technical Resources has partnered with a major defense contractor to hire a Systems Integration Lab Engineer. We are seeking engineers with experience and a passion for working in an advanced technology software integration and testing lab. The System and Integration Lab Engineer will design and maintain laboratory integration and test environments involving electronic hardware components and software at various levels, including vehicle components, sub-systems, and platforms. This role will be connected to various military vehicles.

Skills, Experience, Education Required:

Bachelors degree in a STEM field. Familiar Minimum of 4 years of work experience Experience with cable troubleshooting, building, and repair Proficiency with one or more scripting languages (Python, BASH, or NI TestStand) Experience with both Linux and Windows operating systems Experience debugging complex electro-mechanical systemsity with computer networking principles (VLANs / Switch configuration) Familiarity with multiple communication protocols Knowledge of running simulation models

Skills, Experience, Education Preferred:

Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering Experience with serial data communication protocols and tools (CAN, MIL-STD-1553) Experience with Ethernet protocols and tools Experience with C/C++ Experience with Wireshark Experience with system level use case tests Knowledge of Windows event logs Familiarity with NI TestStand Understanding of how models and hardware work together

Work Environment:

This is a 1st (day) shift role that works a 9/80 schedule (9-hour days, every other Friday off). The schedule is generally 8:00am to 6:00pm. This will be an on site role at our facility in Sterling Heights, MI (no remote / hybrid work). There will be occasional overtime in this role. Any OT will be paid at 1.5x. Offer may be contingent upon a drug screen (which includes cannabis) and criminal background check. EOE (including Disability/Veterans)
