Summary: The Project Accountant manages accounts receivable functions of assigned projects. The Project Accountant will review change orders, and maintaining timely and accurate reporting information, Billing and cash collections. This role interacts heavily with internal project managers, and the clients/ general contractors. Reports to: Controller
The Project Accountants responsibilities include: Establish, organize, and maintain assigned project files Complete monthly invoicing and draw packages Process AIA payment document review for sworn statements, waivers, G702 & G703 per requirements of general contractors Verify the accuracy of the previously billed and paid figures on the contractor and subcontractor's application for payment and waiver requests. Timely collection on past due accounts receivables Review and verify the contracts, contractor and subcontractor change orders, and general costs for accuracy. Effectively communicate with Project Managers and Superintendents, regarding contract documents, change orders and other contract modifications, approvals, and any additional services-related to billing. Complete monthly project reconciliations Additional responsibilities may be added by the department or project as necessary.
Requirements: High school diploma or GED Excellent communication and organizational skills. Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task Basic Microsoft office skills primarily in Excel Preferred skills: Bachelor's degree or higher Thorough knowledge of basic construction accounting principles (retainage, lien waivers and estimates costs) 1-3 Years of construction accounting experience Sage 300 experience
