Machining Operations Lead Specialist

within the thriving Chicago West Loop’s Aftermarket Pump Repair Shop. Embark on managing the 2nd shift, ensuring all shop floor processes are maximized and surpassing resource utilization goals while safeguarding operational safety and success. Core Responsibilities: 5+ years of leadership in an industrial aftermarket ambiance, guiding machinists, mechanics, and shop staff. Implement a leadership style focusing on employee motivation and support. Efficiently organize shop activities, meeting tailored customer needs and delivering exhaustive job status updates. Direct ongoing projects; collaborate with internal assembly, inspection, and weld teams for project completion. Maintain open channels with the Shop Manager and interface job transitions across shifts. Cultivate input from Engineers on shop floor issues and enhancements. Adhere to customer deadlines, preemptively ensuring material readiness. Interpret blueprints and guide shop personnel through job tasks effectively. Prepare for and manage urgent weekend duties as required. Uphold and instill the company’s safety standards, training others in safety protocols. Juggle multiple projects and tasks concurrently with acumen. Prior manual machinist experience with refurbished large components preferred. Excel in resolving repair dilemmas while establishing leadership excellence. Superior communication and interpersonal skill set required. ERP system familiarity is an asset. Execute diverse task assignments proactively. Baseline Requirements: Background in an equipment repair domain, ideally related to pumps or power-driven systems. Proficiency in manual machining and welding methodologies. Operate effectively under pressure, adhering to strenuous time constraints. Applies mathematical skills and blueprint comprehension adeptly. 5 years minimum in a supervisory role necessary. Microsoft Office proficiency advisable. Education: High school diploma or GED essential. Further education (Associate degree or higher) is favorable. Equivalent education combined with relevant experience is considered valid.
