Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule Full time, 36 hours/week; 3-12 hour shifts/week including every other weekend and holiday.
Job Description As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, you will assess patients' respiratory care needs and implement treatment strategies to optimize patient outcomes. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care, with a focus on family education and support.
Responsibilities
Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings accurately.
Establish and implement appropriate care plans.
Communicate effectively with other members of the patient care team.
Administer therapeutic modalities including aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy, and secretion management.
Initiate and manage mechanical ventilators according to established protocols.
Provide age-specific education to patients and families regarding disease management.
Assist with the intra-hospital transport of mechanically ventilated patients.
Respond to acute airway management situations as required.
Set up and manage non-invasive monitoring devices.
Assist with discharge planning for respiratory-related DME supplies.
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and institutional standards.
Collect arterial blood gas samples and process them efficiently.
Act as a preceptor for orientees and students in clinical rotations.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
Graduate from Specialty Training Program (Required)
PA License, BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
Certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
Additional certifications: Neonatal Resuscitation Program and S.T.A.B.L.E. Program
