SUMMARY Arcticom, LLC, a company within the BSNC family, is currently seeking a qualified Network Engineer to support the technical operations, maintenance, and optimization for various clients including agencies within DOD. This role focuses on network security, data exchange, troubleshooting, performance optimization and supporting networking infrastructure tasks under the guidance of the operations manager and customer. Network Engineer ensures networks operate efficiently, comply with cybersecurity requirements (as required) and reporting needs in alignment with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) standards. Wage/Salary Range: $135,000 - $155,000 Applicants will be contacted via phone or email within ten (10) business days of submittal. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned. oNetwork Engineer Functionality and Operations: Developing network topologies and designs, creating disaster recovery plans, establishing maintenance protocols, ensuring reliable network performance to support all system designed and providing technical guidance to IT teams. oTechnical Support and Troubleshooting: Maintains business continuity and operational efficiency, support for remote work environments, management of increasing data volumes and the integration of complex cloud systems. oReport Development Assistance: Support the creation and maintenance of seamless communication through Quality of Service (QOS) and real-time metric tracking reports to address operational efficiency and system performance. Implementation of security measures and protocols such as Office Workload Reports and Completed Actions Reports, to facilitate management's data analysis and decision-making processes. oCybersecurity Compliance: Implement and maintain security controls in accordance with DOD 8140, NIST SP 800-53, and DODI 8510.01 Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements. Ensure compliance with DOD cybersecurity policies. oNetwork and System Access: Support the establishment and maintenance of secure communication links.Conduct reviews of contractor access to verify continued need. oEnd-of-Year Surge Support: Provide additional technical support during the September surge period, up to 100 hours, to meet fiscal year-end requirements. oDocumentation and Compliance: Contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other technical documentation as needed. oMeeting Support: Assist in preparing technical materials for organizational meetings and documenting outcomes as required. oEnsure technical support and troubleshooting align with performance requirements, maintaining system reliability and user satisfaction QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications oBachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Telecom Engineer, Network Architect, Network Analyst, or related discipline) can be substituted for 8 years in the same field. oMinimum of four (4) years of experience in network engineering, preferably with exposure to DOD. oMust be able to obtain and maintain DOD-approved Information Assurance (IA) certifications per DOD 8140 for IA technical positions. oMust pass the mandatory background investigation and the security awareness training and comply with DOD Personnel Security Office guidelines as required. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics oProficiency in network protocols, routing technologies, and troubleshooting for enterprise applications. oStrong technical, analytical and problem-solving abilities. oWorks collaboratively under the direction of senior staff and communicates effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred oDOD Secret or higher clearance. oPrior experience with a government contractor or other government entity and understanding of radios and IT systems. o Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite programs such as WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, Visio, and Microsoft Project. oCAD programs. WORK ENVIRONMENT Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily in a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES oSupport Operation and Service Managers in identifying technicians with technical requirements for the job. oSubject matter expert enforcing quality control manner for all technicians and system design. ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
