The Opportunity
They are seeking a seasoned Construction Counsel to join their legal team and provide strategic guidance on construction and manufacturing contracts, Texas lien law compliance, and dispute resolution. This is a high-impact role that works closely with operations, procurement, and executive leadership to protect the company's interests and ensure smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate construction and manufacturing contracts, subcontracts, and purchase agreements.
- Advise on Texas lien law compliance, including notices, filings, and enforcement strategies.
- Manage claims related to back charges, delays, warranties, and quality disputes.
- Oversee litigation, arbitration, and mediation in collaboration with outside counsel.
- Provide proactive legal risk assessments and support contract performance.
- Develop internal policies and training programs to minimize disputes and enhance compliance.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing.
- Minimum of 5 years of legal experience in construction and manufacturing law.
- Deep understanding of Texas lien laws and construction-related statutes.
- Proven track record in contract negotiation and dispute resolution.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
