Overview

Southway Crane & Rigging, Inc. is seeking a full-time Diesel / Crane Mechanic to join the Macon (Rebuild), GA branch. The mechanic will perform maintenance and repairs on cranes, forklifts, and other equipment. Must follow State and Federal laws while operating motor vehicles and follow all safety and environmental policies.

Responsibilities

  • Supply your own tools with up-to-date tool inventory (We have a variety of specialty tools in the shop).
  • Must be able to perform scheduled maintenance on cranes, forklifts, and other various equipment.
  • Must be able to document all maintenance and repairs performed on the equipment and file records properly.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
  • Understand electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic circuits is a plus.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends at the shop.
  • Must be able to verbally communicate safety issues to customers and co-workers on site before and during job tasks.
  • Reports to Supervisor and/or Lead Mechanic on completion of assigned job tasks for next assignment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Trade school diploma preferred
  • 3-7 years of performing maintenance and repairs on hydraulic crane
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of CANBUS, PAT, ECOS, LICCON SYSTEMS
  • Reads and understands operating, parts manuals, and technical drawings
  • Tests mechanical, electronic, electrical and hydraulic products and equipment after repair or modifications to ensure proper operation and compliance with OEM specifications

  • Ability to interpret, read, and write reports in English
  • Mechanical and analytical skills
  • Ability to interpret, read, and troubleshoot using schematic
  • Ability to prioritize, organize work, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to operate crane by viewing hand signals
