Scope of the Role The Vice President of Finance & Accounting is the most senior financial leader of the company and a key member of the executive leadership team. This individual is responsible for setting and executing the company\'s financial strategy, capital planning, and infrastructure to enable sustainable, scalable growth. This role oversees all core financial disciplines—Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Treasury, and Procurement Finance—ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, optimization of capital resources, and alignment of financial strategy with company objectives. As the company expands across domestic and international markets, the VP will provide strategic insight, drive operational and financial performance, and serve as a key partner to the CEO and cross-functional leaders. Reporting Structure The Vice President of Finance & Accounting is a member of the leadership team and reports to the CEO. This position also partners with cross-functional stakeholders and leaders within the organization. Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities
Serve as the principal financial voice of the company, managing relationships with external financial stakeholders including banks, lenders, auditors, and advisors. Define and drive the company\'s long-term financial vision, capital strategy, and enterprise resource allocation in alignment with strategic growth objectives. Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and executive team, translating financial data into actionable recommendations that shape business direction, mitigate risk, and optimize performance. Lead all aspects of financial planning, including budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and scenario modeling. Deliver enterprise-wide financial insights, KPIs, and decision support aligned with commercial, supply chain, and operational strategies. Deliver financial leadership across all sales channels (DTC, marketplace, wholesale), driving pricing, promotional strategy, and margin optimization. Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across all entities. Oversee accounting infrastructure, financial close, internal controls, and audit readiness in accordance with US GAAP and international standards. Continuously improve the accuracy, speed, and efficiency of the financial close and consolidation cycle. Lead treasury strategy, cash flow forecasting, credit facility oversight, and working capital optimization. Manage banking relationships and guide capital deployment, including financial modeling and analysis for M&A, capital raises, and strategic partnerships. Evaluate and support capital needs for strategic initiatives, including expansion, inventory scaling, or investment partnerships. Oversee procurement and inventory investment strategy, driving spend governance, cost savings, and supplier risk mitigation in collaboration with supply chain and operations leaders. Own the strategy and evolution of financial systems, ERP platforms, and data tools to support real-time insight and scalable processes. Establish financial policies and governance frameworks that support accountability and compliance. Provide oversight for legal and lease compliance, commercial insurance, and employee financial benefits (e.g., 401(k)). Familiarity with hiring, scaling, and managing offshore or international accounting resources to support global operations. Provide financial leadership across international operations, ensuring compliance with global accounting standards, tax regulations, and reporting obligations in key foreign jurisdictions. Build and lead a high-performing finance team while fostering a culture of integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Establish clear accountability, cross-functional development, and succession planning frameworks across the team. Qualifications & Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required; CPA, MBA, or other advanced credentials strongly preferred. 10+ years of progressive finance leadership, including 5+ years in a VP or executive role overseeing Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, and Procurement. Proven success in financial leadership within consumer products, retail, or e-commerce businesses involving physical inventory and omnichannel sales. Deep knowledge of financial strategy, capital structure, credit facilities, international operations, and treasury management. Strong command of US GAAP, internal controls, regulatory compliance, and multi-entity reporting structures. Experience overseeing procurement finance, inventory planning, and supply chain-related financial operations. Proficiency in NetSuite or similar ERP, financial planning platforms (e.g., Adaptive Insights), and BI / reporting tools (e.g., Power BI). Familiarity with legal, insurance, benefits (401k), tax strategy, and global procurement operations is required; experience is a plus. Strategic thinker with operational savvy; able to dive into the details while maintaining a clear view of business impact and long-term goals. Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills; comfortable translating complex financial issues into accessible insights.
