Director of Surveying – Professional Land Surveyor (P.L.S.) Location:
St. Louis, MO (Metro Area) Compensation:
$100,000 – $150,000 base salary + bonus opportunities About the Role We are seeking an experienced
Director of Surveying (P.L.S.)
to lead our Survey Department and oversee high-profile projects across the St. Louis region. This mid-level management position reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for all aspects of survey operations, including scheduling, budgeting, quality control, and team leadership. With more than 75 years of expertise in delivering some of the region’s largest and most complex projects, we offer an excellent opportunity for a survey professional ready to make an impact in both leadership and technical execution. Key Responsibilities Direct daily survey operations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards Oversee property boundary and ALTA/NSPS surveys, applying advanced knowledge of legal surveying principles Conduct property boundary research, coordinate with Survey Crew Chiefs, and perform traverse calculations and adjustments Review and interpret title documents, identify encumbrances, and prepare boundary descriptions, record plats, and adjustment plats Collaborate with clients, attorneys, local governments, engineers, contractors, and project managers to provide accurate survey solutions Utilize AutoCAD for drafting and data reduction Qualifications 10+ years of experience in property boundary and ALTA/NSPS surveys Current
Professional Land Surveyor (P.L.S.)
license in Missouri and/or Illinois Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and deep understanding of legal boundary principles Proven leadership skills managing survey teams and coordinating with multidisciplinary professionals Compensation & Benefits Salary:
