Siro Diagnostics, Inc. is seeking a talented, enthusiastic, and highly motivated

contract Research Associate I, Assay Development

to join the R&D team and help the development of cartridge-based molecular assays. An emphasis will be placed on new amplification chemistries such as isothermal nucleic acid amplification schemes. The ideal candidate needs to have hands-on lab experience, good organizational skills, display a proactive attitude and be flexible about their activities.

This is a

contract position

, expected to be 40 hours per week. The initial contract term is 3 months. While we cannot guarantee future employment,

this role may lead to a full-time opportunity depending on company needs and priorities.

Position Responsibilities: Support the optimization of novel isothermal nucleic acid amplification techniques. Assist the development of nucleic acid detection by conducting experiments through system-level cartridge testing. Testing will be involved in all stages of product development from early assay discovery to verification and validation study execution. Conduct experiments with live pathogens and human clinical samples in a biosafety level 2 lab. Troubleshoot problems and identify solutions to technical challenges.

Desired Skills: 0-2 years of experience in a lab setting. B.S. or M.S. degree in chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology or a related discipline. Basic understanding of molecular biology techniques, relevant software, and data analysis tools. Common methods for DNA/RNA characterization such as PCR (endpoint, real-time). Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and efficient with hands-on laboratory research. Excellent analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Pay range: The pay range for this position is $28-30. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
