Automated Systems Technician - 638276 Indianapolis, IN Shifts Available: 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM Pay Range: $25 - $27/hr. DOE Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated Automated Systems Technician to support the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of advanced automated manufacturing lines in a clean, regulated environment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring continuous production, product quality, and compliance with medical manufacturing standards. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical aptitude, experience in automated systems (medical, automotive, or similar), and the drive to grow in a purpose-driven, collaborative culture that values learning and work-life balance. Key Responsibilities: Troubleshoot and repair highly automated production equipment, with a focus on minimizing downtime and maintaining production schedules. Execute maintenance work orders, preventive maintenance protocols, and accurately document performed tasks. Independently support and manage operations for assigned shift. Assist in validating and maintaining equipment in compliance with FDA 21 CFR 820/GMP Medical Device Regulations. Support engineering teams in testing and implementation of procedures to meet regulatory requirements. Develop and maintain documentation, including protocols, work instructions, and engineering studies. Build cross-functional relationships and align with company culture focused on learning, purpose, and continuous improvement. Skills & Qualifications: Required: 2+ years of experience in an automated manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience with: Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLCs Cognex Vision Systems Fanuc Robots (Comparable automated technologies also considered) Strong technical troubleshooting skills (approx. 70% of the job). Ability to write clear, professional documentation. Excellent time and project management skills. Capable of independently managing assigned tasks and schedules. Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related field (BSET or similar). Experience in medical device manufacturing or automotive automated systems. Familiarity with validated systems and cleanroom environments. Key Performance Objectives: Short Term (0–3 Months): Complete training on automated line operations and maintenance. Learn quality system requirements and documentation protocols. Begin executing maintenance work orders under supervision. Mid Term (3–6 Months): Demonstrate troubleshooting ability on automation equipment. Begin programming and adjusting automated systems. Understand equipment validation and regulatory documentation. Long Term (6–12 Months): Independently support shift operations with minimal supervision. Lead troubleshooting, programming, and modification efforts. Partner with Engineering to drive cost savings and process improvements. Maintain full understanding of FDA regulatory compliance related to automation. About the Work Environment: Technicians will work on advanced, medical-grade automated assembly lines producing high-precision drug delivery systems (e.g., epinephrine auto-injectors). While medical device experience is valued, technicians from automotive or other automated manufacturing sectors are encouraged to apply.
