Robert Hall Architects (RHA) is a boutique, design-driven firm in San Diego specializing in multifamily housing, ADUs, and residential communities. Our mission: think differently, design beautifully, and deliver housing solutions that move San Diego forward.

This is a full-time, in-office role (hybrid).

The Project Architect / Project Manager position blends technical expertise, leadership, and accountability. You’ll oversee projects from concept through construction while managing clients, consultants, and internal teams with precision.

Responsibilities: Lead projects through all phases: schematic design, permitting, CDs, and construction administration. Oversee

QA/QC of drawings

to ensure accuracy, constructability, and compliance. Apply

deep technical knowledge

of building codes, planning codes, detailing, and construction methods. Manage consultants and contractors, ensuring coordination and timely responses. Communicate proactively with clients, including a

weekly email update

. Use

Asana

for task management and

Monograph

for project tracking ( non-negotiable

). Update Asana and project status

every Friday

without exception. Monitor project schedules and budgets, aligning resources to ensure profitability. Mentor junior staff in technical and solution-oriented approaches.

Qualification/Candidate Requirements (required): 7–10+ years of professional architecture experience (multifamily, residential, or ADU preferred). Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture (licensure not required). Proven QA/QC experience with drawings, detailing, and documentation. Strong proficiency in

Revit

; Enscape/Lumion a plus. Solid knowledge of codes, construction methods, and building systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; client-facing experience required. Highly accountable: delivers updates, meets deadlines, and maintains consistency. Comfortable with structured systems — no pushback on Asana, Monograph, or reporting cadence. Salary Range: $90,000 – $110,000 / year Upper end ($110,000) requires 5+ years of multifamily experience in a PA/PM role. Candidates with 7+ years of PA/PM experience but no multifamily background will start at the lower end.
