Advanced Manufacturing & Industrial Solutions A leading innovator in mission-critical component manufacturing is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Procurement Planner Specialist to join their fast-paced and highly collaborative operations team. This pivotal role will help drive supply chain efficiency and production continuity within a high-performance manufacturing environment. As part of a growing business unit that supplies industries such as aerospace, energy, and defense, you'll play a central role in ensuring that production materials are optimally sourced, stocked, and delivered on schedule. Ideal Candidate Profile This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-moving, production-focused environments and enjoys managing both the strategy and execution of procurement operations. You're organized, results-driven, and capable of independently managing vendor communications and purchasing logistics while collaborating cross-functionally. You enjoy owning the process and proactively improving it. Key Responsibilities Develop and manage proactive procurement schedules aligned with demand forecasts and production timelines. Analyze inventory levels, usage trends, and manufacturing schedules to identify material requirements and reorder points. Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and contract conditions with suppliers to ensure quality, cost-efficiency, and reliability. Monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to lead times, quality expectations, and service-level agreements. Generate, track, and follow through on purchase orders, ensuring timely processing and delivery. Collaborate across production, logistics, and finance teams to align material needs and budgetary goals. Lead root cause analysis and risk mitigation strategies for supply chain disruptions. Maintain accurate records and documentation within ERP systems and procurement databases. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce lead times, optimize cost structures, and increase supplier diversity. Conduct market research to identify alternative suppliers and benchmark pricing. Support budget development and cost analysis for procurement functions. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Operations, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in procurement, materials planning, or supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment. Strong negotiation and vendor relationship management skills. Familiarity with ERP platforms and inventory management systems (experience with SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms preferred). High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other standard office applications. Professional certification such as CPSM, CPIM, or equivalent is a plus. Experience supporting continuous improvement or lean manufacturing initiatives is strongly preferred.
