CDL Truck Driver Residential Job at WM in Rio Rancho

Overview

Position: Truck Driver (CDL A required). Safely operates a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes.

Responsibilities

• Operates vehicle in accordance with OSHA, DOT, and all local, state, and federal requirements, and company expectations for the fleet; maintains a clean and safe vehicle.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle using the DVIR form; notes issues for corrective review/repair.
• Immediately reports unsafe situations or service needs to Operations Manager or Dispatch before attempting service.
• Participates in scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by Operations Manager.
• Works with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problematic or unsafe accounts.
• Performs duties as scheduled by Operations Manager or Dispatch and assists other drivers as directed.
• Notifies Operations Manager of incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
• Notifies Dispatch or Operations Manager of issues per Service Machine protocol (e.g., blocked containers, missed pickups).
• Communicates customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Operations Manager.
• Completely dumps all containers and leaves the customer’s location clean and free of debris.
• Completes and submits customer tickets when excess yardage must be removed.
• Positions containers on the customer’s property so lids are replaced, containers are upright, and do not block driveways or traffic.
• Follows route assignments and completes documentation when checking in at the end of the route.

Qualifications

• A. Education and Experience
  • Education: None required.
  • Experience: No prior work experience required.
• B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
  • Commercial Driver's License B (CDL). The CDL is a requirement, therefore, applicant must be 18 years of age.
  • Successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check, including previous employment check and motor vehicle record review.
  • Acceptable driving record required.
