Applied Industrial Technologies is seeking a Pump Mechanic to join its Fluid Power Division.

POSITION SUMMARY Assemble, disassemble and repair pumps, motors, cylinders and valves. Diagnose problems and identify parts needed to repair. Test all items, perform work in both shop and field environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Repairs pumps, motors, cylinders and valves Tear down pumps, motors, cylinders and valves for repair. Identify parts needed to repair. Build new pumps, motors, cylinders and valves. Assist in machine shop as needed. Test completed pumps, motors, valves and cylinders according to written procedures. Clean, lubricate, and adjusts parts, equipment and machinery. Record parts and materials needed and request new parts and materials as necessary. Maintain a neat and orderly shop. Hone/repair barrels. Provide assistance in the installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and controls. Maintain test stands and equipment in accordance with ISO procedures. Know, understand and abide by environmental policies. Weld as needed.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS – SKILLS AND ABILITIES Experience should demonstrate proficiencies in the following areas: Hands on mechanical aptitude. Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a task. Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety. Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions. Ability to make decisions while following company procedures. Keep management apprised of work and backlog. Ability to use cranes, and other heavy and light machines, and equipment.

Education:

High School Graduate or GED/Vocational School

Experience:

Three years mechanic experience, hydraulic experience preferred

Skills taught after hire as needed:

ISO Training, Safety Training, Product Training, Maintenance, Quality Training, Forklift Training, Cylinder Repair, Honing, Lathe Operation, Test Stand Operation, Drill Press Operation, Vertical Mill Operation

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Works in indoors in an uncontrolled environment with occasional work outside. Work Remotely No
