Base pay range

$40.00/hr - $50.00/hr

Location: Hybrid onsite in Oakland, CA (2 days per week)

Required Skills & Experience

  • BA/BS Degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, Engineering or other related field or equivalent work experience
  • 6 years of related work experience
  • Familiarity with utility operations
  • Advanced skill in Microsoft Excel/Access (complex formulas, graphing, VBA)
  • Advanced skill in visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
  • Advanced skill in writing SQL queries using Oracle or Business Objects
  • Strong knowledge of base-SAS and programming language such as Visual Basic, Perl, C
  • Strong organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Influence skills
  • Advanced project management skills to lead cross functional teams

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

  • Experience/knowledge of GIS and/or SAP
  • Experience with Copperleaf and/or Foundry

Job Description

Evergreen, Insight Global’s Manage Service Division partners with a large local utility company’s Integrated Grid Planning team. Looking for an Operations Data Analyst and the responsibilities would include but aren’t limited to:

  • Manages complex data analysis projects with limited supervision on only the most complex projects from initial request to presenting data results ensuring that the project is completed within budget and on-time.
  • Designs data analysis to achieve business objectives, process data, analyze data, write clear and concise data findings and tailor communications to specific audiences.
  • Creates automated data routines and processes for reporting and data delivery ensuring accurate data manipulation and data cleansing.
  • Manages extracting data and transferring the data from databases to various analysts to support operational analysis efforts
  • Demonstrates and utilizes broad expertise in data processing and data analysis and applies this knowledge to several different issues.
  • Provides new and innovative solutions and recommendations to enhance database(s) with new data sources and improved data processes.
  • Develops comprehensive reports and communicates clear, concise, and actionable data analyses for clients.
  • Works with Directors and Managers across functions to influence decisions.
  • Analyze business data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for operational and strategic improvements.
  • Collect, clean, and integrate data from various sources, including SAP, Foundry, GIS, and Copperleaf, to support business operations and asset planning.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools like Power BI or Tableau to communicate insights and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, identify challenges, and translate them into data-driven solutions.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses and present findings to stakeholders in a clear, concise, and actionable format, including responding to data requests.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across systems and reporting platforms, supporting best practices in data management.
