Overview The Bariatric Counseling Center is a ground-breaking behavioral healthcare facility specializing in the comprehensive behavioral treatment of adults struggling with binge eating, emotional over-eating, and obesity. The 9-year-old center has a pioneering integrated cross-disciplinary approach to behavioral health. The fun-loving, close-knit, and dynamic Bariatric Counseling Center team is comprised of a Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Mental Health Therapists, Registered Dietitians, a Registered Nurse, a Physical Therapist, and a Professional Chef. The Center's flagship behavioral health intensive outpatient (IOP) program includes group and individual therapy, dietary guidance, cooking classes, chef-prepared meals, mindful eating, and movement education in an all-inclusive format. The modern facility features a state-of-the-art teaching kitchen for healthy recipe demonstrations and development. Care is coordinated and collaborative across the team to deliver an innovative whole health approach to behavioral healthcare. Roll Our clinical team is looking for a full time dynamic licensed therapist in the state of Texas (LPC, LMFT, LCSW or LPC-A, LMFT-A, LCSW-A) to lead psychoeducational groups and provide individual therapy in our intensive outpatient program, as well as conduct psychological assessments for clients with disordered and binge eating, anxiety and depression. Prior eating disorder therapy experience is of value but not required. Responsibilities Individual and group psychotherapy Comprehensive assessments and treatment planning for each patient on case load, including complete biopsychosocial, self-harm and suicide assessments and individualized treatment plans with specific and measurable goals in collaboration with treatment team members. Complete clinical documentation including treatment plans, progress notes and group notes, relapse prevention plans, and discharge summaries. Documentation meets standards and assists with utilization review process. Coordinate after-care referrals as needed. Participate in treatment team meetings to provide individual case conceptualization and coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary team. Perform psychosocial assessments for bariatric surgery clearance, determining any contraindications to surgery and making related treatment recommendations. Training will be provided. Provide mentorship to less experienced clinical team members. Comply with annual licensure requirements. Maintain client confidentiality, Joint Commission standards and HIPPA. Ensure compliance with boundaries and ethical clinical practices. Skills Has obtained and maintains a full clinical mental health license as required by state of Texas (LPC, LMFT, LCSW or LPC-A, LMFT-A, LCSW-A) Psychological assessment and diagnostic skills Experience leading group therapy a plus Experience treating eating disorders a plus Experience treating ADHD a plus Collaborative nature and strong communication skills Reliable, well organized, and attentive to detail Schedule 40 hours weekly Monday through Friday, to include 2 evenings Monday through Thursday to 8:30 PM (AM programming begins at 10 AM, no Monday AM or Friday PM programming). One Saturday per month from 9:30 AM to 1 PM. 22-24 client-facing hours weekly, including group and individual therapy and 5-6 weekly psychosocial assessments for bariatric surgery clearance. Salary commensurate with experience and years of full licensure.
