I am currently working with a well established General Contractor & Construction Management specialist with a rich history in the Florida area.
As a
Project Engineer
, you will assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in the day to day management of commercial construction projects. You'll play a vital role in all phases of the project, from pre-construction to closeout, focusing on technical support, documentation, and coordination.

Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Coordination:
Assist with developing and maintaining project schedules, including coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and various trade professionals to ensure timely completion of tasks. Document Control:
Manage all project documentation, including submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), change orders, and meeting minutes. Ensure all documents are accurate, up-to-date, and properly distributed to the project team. Cost Management:
Help the Project Manager track project costs, prepare and process change orders, and assist with budget forecasting and billing. Quality and Safety Assurance:
Conduct regular site walks and inspections to ensure work is compliant with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations. Work with the Superintendent to address and resolve any issues. Communication:
Serve as a key point of contact between the project team, subcontractors, architects, and clients. Facilitate effective communication to ensure everyone is aligned on project goals and progress. Pre-Construction Support:
Assist with the transition from the bidding phase to construction, including reviewing contract requirements, general conditions, and budgets. Help evaluate projects for constructability and value-engineer cost savings.
Qualifications
Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Experience:
At least 2 of experience working in commercial construction, with a solid understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and documentation. Technical Skills:
Proficiency with construction management software like
Procore
, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Project. Experience with blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings is essential. Soft Skills:
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must for this highly collaborative role.
