Join to apply for the Accountant role at WorkDynamX.

We are seeking a seasoned Pricing & Invoicing Accountant to lead the development, oversight, and execution of pricing strategies, proposal financials, and customer invoicing processes. This role is critical to ensuring that both commercial and government proposals are compliant, cost-competitive, and aligned with strategic business objectives.

The ideal candidate would bring experience in financial operations and pricing, with a strong understanding of government contracting requirements, including FAR/DFARS compliance, cost build-up methodologies, and audit readiness. This role will serve as a strategic business partner across finance, sales, engineering, and development teams.

What you will be doing

  • Develop, validate, and manage detailed pricing models for commercial and government proposals.
  • Lead the financial review and approval process for all pricing submissions, ensuring alignment with corporate margin and risk thresholds.
  • Analyze cost structures and provide insights into profitability, pricing levers, and customer value.
  • Maintain pricing policies, tools, and templates for consistency across bids.
  • Proposal & Government Contract Support: Review proposal cost volumes, cost narratives, and pricing schedules for compliance with FAR/DFARS and solicitation requirements.
  • Support Business Development and Contracts teams in pricing RFPs, RFQs, and IDIQ task orders.
  • Coordinate with technical leads to ensure cost realism and labor/resource estimates are supportable and auditable.
  • Support the development of forward pricing rate packages and responses to DCAA/DCMA inquiries, when applicable.
  • Equipment Line Management: Oversee the accurate structuring and costing of equipment line items across bids and proposals.
  • Interface with engineering and supply chain to validate BOMs, vendor quotes, and production assumptions.
  • Monitor pricing consistency for repeat offerings and implement improvements to streamline cost development.
  • Invoicing and AR Operations: Manage invoicing workflows for fixed-price, cost-reimbursable, and milestone-based contracts.
  • Ensure timely and compliant invoice submissions per contract terms, including government billing standards (e.g., WAWF, IPP).
  • Reconcile invoicing with revenue recognition and project status updates.
  • Track AR payments, conduct follow-ups on outstanding balances, and maintain effective collections processes.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with internal stakeholders to align pricing strategy with program execution, cost controls, and financial planning.
  • Lead process improvements to automate proposal pricing, standardize documentation, and enhance financial transparency.
  • Assist in preparing documentation and schedules required for internal and external audits. Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory standards.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of entries.
  • Special emphasis on Revenue, COGS, Inventory, and Accounts Receivable to ensure financial data integrity and accurate reporting.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end close procedures.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial consolidations, ensuring deadlines are met and reports are complete and accurate.
  • Internal Controls & Process Documentation: Maintain documentation for internal controls over financial reporting and ensure processes meet audit and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in pricing, financial operations, or proposal development.
  • Direct experience supporting pricing efforts on government contracts (FAR/DFARS, TINA, CAS).
  • Strong working knowledge of cost proposals, indirect rate structures, and price-to-win strategies.
  • Experience with marine technology, energy, or defense-related systems is preferred.
  • Familiarity with government proposal platforms (e.g., SAM.gov, WAWF/iRAPT, IPP) is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in ERP software, preferably QuickBooks.
