Job Details

Position: Senior Staff Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Staff Accountant to join a collaborative and fast-paced accounting team. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this role is responsible for key aspects of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong technical skills who thrives in a professional environment and enjoys partnering across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Perform general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.
  • Review reports and accounting processes to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal controls.
  • Develop and deliver periodic financial reports for senior leadership.
  • Assist with financial projections, variance analysis, and research of accounting issues.
  • Participate in internal control and process improvement projects, including documenting procedures and recommending efficiencies.
  • Provide support and mentorship to other team members, fostering knowledge-sharing and collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (minimum GPA 3.25 required).
  • 5–7 years of experience in corporate accounting, financial analysis, or a similar professional role.
  • Industry experience in Banking or Financial Services is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general PC applications.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to take initiative and drive tasks to completion.
