Job Description

As a Security Guard Access Control Specialist in Charlotte, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients across industries such as Commercial Real Estate. You will help maintain a secure environment for tenants, visitors, and staff by monitoring access points, managing badge entry systems, and conducting routine patrols. You will be the first point of contact for those entering the building, providing exceptional customer service while maintaining a visible presence. This role is suitable for individuals comfortable using computers or tablets and experienced with alarm panels or access control systems.

Position Type: Full Time
Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour
Job Schedule: Day shifts with the following availability: Wed-Sun 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You’ll Do

  • Use our scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites.
  • Support operations across environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education.
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams.
  • Deliver a consistent, professional security presence and customer service.
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by following site-specific security procedures and policies at the location.
  • Monitor and control access to the premises, verifying identification and credentials of individuals entering and exiting.
  • Respond to incidents calmly and according to established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols to deter unauthorized activity and identify concerns.
  • Assist visitors, tenants, and staff with inquiries and directions while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Document and report unusual activity, security incidents, or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel or site management.
  • Support emergency response activities as needed, coordinating with Allied Universal and local authorities according to procedures.

Minimum Requirements

  • Alarm panel experience and access control/badge experience are preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
  • Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Background check as required by law; successful candidates will be subject to a drug screen where permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements may apply depending on state/local regulations.
  • A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
