Position: Security Guard Education Patrol Flex — Los Angeles, CA

As a Flex Part-Time Security Officer, you’ll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and pick up open shifts based on your availability—giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. This includes roles as a Patrol Unarmed Officer within educational settings, maintaining a secure environment. You will interact with students, staff, and visitors, provide customer service, and support a welcoming atmosphere. Position Type: Flex

Pay Rate: $20.09 / Hour

Job Schedule: Sat, 05:00 AM – 01:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Use the scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and participate in emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly to maintain order on the premises.
• Conduct regular and random patrols to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Observe and report any suspicious activity, security-related hazards, or unusual circumstances encountered during patrols.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with students, staff, visitors, and local authorities as needed.
• Document incidents and daily activities in accordance with Allied Universal protocols and client requirements.
• Assist with access control measures and verify identification as required by site-specific policies.

Minimum Requirements:

• A Guard Card is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation as required by federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Drug screening as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
