We are looking for a Human Resources Manager to join the team based in Montgomery, Alabama willing to develop their professional career in an international and innovative environment integrated in a multidisciplinary, competitive and highly qualified team.

Job Purpose

This position will be responsible for leading all aspects of Human Resources for a fast-growing, progressive food manufacturing company while managing a Human Resources team. This person will focus on developing, implementing, and improving the process related to the employee lifecycle including, but not limited to recruiting, onboarding, development, compensation, benefits, payroll, collective bargaining, retention, and offboarding. To guide and manage the overall provisions of Human Resources services, policies, and programs for the Company at the assigned facility.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership to ensure clear definition, execution and understanding of roles and responsibilities for Human Resources in Viscofan Danville.
  • Maintain effective relationships with global stakeholders within the organization which includes the ability to manage and communicate to stakeholders across various levels, functions, countries and cultures.
  • Ensure safe working procedures are practiced at all times by employees/direct reports. Employees must fully understand and accept that safety is each own persons’ responsibility. Safety is a condition of employment. Insist on strict adherence to safety standards and ensure good housekeeping across the department at all times.
  • Defines overall Human Resources vision and strategies, in conjunction with Executive Team. Establishes targets and ensures delivery against established metrics for measurement of factors such as cost, labor efficiency, recruitment, retention etc.
  • Talent Acquisition and Retention (hourly and salaried): Manage the ongoing cycle of processes related to attracting, sourcing, recruiting, and hiring (or placing) employees within the facility. This includes elements of outreach, networking, and relationship building with potential candidate communities to continually build and enhance the talent pool for the facility.
  • Organizational development: Understand, implement, and manage organizational change. Improve the organization, to make it more efficient and more competitive by aligning the organization's systems with its people.
  • Performance management and improvement systems: Develop, implement, and manage the employee performance review system as well as the HR KPIs.
  • Employee development: Responsible for the overall strategy and implementation of employee development programs, including but not limited to general plant training, compliance training, leadership training, succession planning, and development plan management.
  • Regulatory compliance: Ensure company compliance with local, state and federal employment laws and regulations. (FLSA, ADA, FMLA, ODRISA etc.)
  • Internal compliance: Ensure HR compliance with internal company processes and procedures (ICFR reports, ISO CARs, etc.)
  • Employee on-boarding: Set the stage for a positive employment experience by ensuring the proper employee orientation including delivering the company overview, setting job expectations, reviewing policies and procedures, and establishing behavioral expectations.
  • Policy development and administration: Partner with the Executive Team and others as needed to develop and implement new policies. Effectively communicate policy changes to employees. Provide training and workshops to employees regarding policy additions and revisions.
  • Community Relations: Establish and maintain a mutually beneficial relationship with community organizations.
  • Compensation and Benefits Administration: Manage employee compensation including base pay and merit increases along with conducting market studies to ensure competitive compensation and benefits packages. Also manage employee benefits administration including medical insurance, life insurance, Short/Long Term Disability, 401(k) savings accounts.
  • Employee Health and Wellness administration: Develop and implement programs to enhance employee health, wellness, and morale.
  • Reporting: Gathers information for and regularly updates required and requested reporting related to all Human Resources functions and KPIs including the Board of Managers report, ICFR, Corporate Reporting, and Affirmative Action Planning.
  • Actively engages in corporate change management initiatives and leads the implementation of such programs as requested.
  • Responsible for managing costs and proposing budgetary needs of the Human Resources Department.

Qualifications

  • Education: Undergraduate Degree required (solid, proven experience working in human resources may be considered in-lieu of degree)
  • Experience: 5+ or more years of experience working in human resources or related area
  • Skills: MS Office intermediate/advanced required; ability to quickly learn to use other software and programs
  • Will require high level of communication skills. Will use tact and diplomacy in addressing employee complaints and communicating changes in the Company’s HR policies or benefit plans. Must be an excellent team player who is a self-starter. Must be highly motivated and flexible to handle changes both within the corporation and in the legal environment.
  • Professional Certification: PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
