Cleaning Services Worker (Part-Time) – 3rd Shift

Location: San Diego Convention Center Corporation (San Diego, CA)

Shift: 3rd shift – 11:00pm to 7:30am (must be available four days, including Friday, Saturday & Sunday)

Hourly Compensation: $20.76 per hour (+ $1.00 differential) paid bi-weekly

This is a Union position with the SEIU-USWW.

What You Will Do

• Keep restrooms, lobbies, hallways, offices, public areas, foyers, loading dock, terrace/plaza areas, meeting rooms, exhibition halls and seating areas safe, sanitized, and well-stocked.
• Perform duties such as gum removal, mopping up liquids, and emptying trash containers in all areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, lobbies, foyers, loading dock, terrace/plaza areas, meeting rooms, exhibitions halls, and exterior entrances.
• Clean and maintain windows, glass chrome and stainless steel (except for high glass).
• Stock, organize, and clean janitorial closets.
• Answer guests’ questions regarding the facility.
• Care for uniforms, equipment, and supplies.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum hallways, stairs, office space, lobbies, foyers, meeting rooms and exhibit halls.
• Empty trash containers.
• Safely operate assigned Facility Services equipment after training (e.g., buffers, power sweepers, vacuums, carpet equipment, extractors, trash compactors, forklift, lifts, electric cart).
• Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Need

• On-site training provided. General work experience in housekeeping or custodial maintenance in hospitality is a plus.
• Ability to understand instructions, follow guidelines, and communicate effectively with management and staff. Basic English literacy required.
• Ability to follow guidelines, meet productivity standards, exercise good judgment, and handle standard situations.
• Willingness to work day/evening shifts, including weekends.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk/listen.
• Physical ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Vision requirements: close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
• Exposure to cleaning products and chemicals in accordance with manufacturer labels; occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and loud environments.
• Hours/flexibility may extend beyond standard schedule due to 24/7 operation of the Convention Center.
