About the Role As Vice President of the East, you will be the strategic leader driving the performance, growth, and operational excellence of all Claire's stores across the Eastern U.S. This is a high-impact, enterprise-level role within Retail Operations, with responsibility for translating corporate strategy into operational execution, ensuring measurable business outcomes, and fostering a best-in-class customer experience. You will lead a team of Regional Directors, indirectly oversee District Managers and Store Managers, and act as a key partner to cross-functional leadership teams, including Merchandising, Marketing, HR, and Training. Your ability to combine strategic vision with operational rigor will be essential to elevate Claire's brand, increase profitability, and enhance the customer experience across the region. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Cross-Functional Influence Serve as a strategic thought partner to the SVP, Retail Operations, shaping North American retail strategy and translating it into actionable plans for the Eastern region. Lead, mentor, and develop two Regional Directors, fostering a high-performance leadership culture and ensuring accountability across all districts. Partner with Merchandising, Marketing, HR, Training, and Supply Chain to drive alignment on business initiatives, store programs, and brand strategies. Act as a change agent, championing innovation in store operations, digital integration, and customer engagement initiatives. Business Performance & P&L Ownership Own the P&L for the Eastern region, ensuring achievement of sales, profitability, labor, and operational targets. Develop and implement strategies to maximize piercing services, accessories, and conversion metrics, establishing Claire's as the premier destination for self-expression. Leverage data analytics and market insights to identify growth opportunities, optimize store performance, and drive continuous improvement. Maintain financial discipline, controlling shrink, operating expenses, and inventory to maximize profitability and operational efficiency. Operational Excellence & Brand Stewardship Ensure consistent execution of operational standards, promotions, and visual merchandising across all stores. Drive operational discipline across districts, focusing on customer experience, compliance, and risk management. Implement best practices and operational innovations to improve efficiency, execution, and employee engagement. Talent Development & Culture Build and sustain a culture of high performance, accountability, and collaboration across the Eastern region. Partner with HR to attract, retain, and develop top retail talent, ensuring succession planning for key leadership roles. Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion, creating an environment where all team members feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed. Executive Presence & Stakeholder Management Represent the Eastern region in executive leadership forums, presenting performance results, insights, and strategic recommendations. Influence senior leadership and cross-functional partners through data-driven insights, operational expertise, and compelling communication. Act as a visible leader in the field, modeling company values and ensuring alignment of store operations with brand vision. Qualifications & Experience Proven success leading multi-unit, high-volume retail operations at VP, Sr. Director, or equivalent level, with measurable business results. Experience managing large field organizations across multiple states or regions, including Regional Directors and district-level management. Demonstrated ability to translate corporate strategy into operational execution and deliver sustainable growth. Strong financial acumen with a track record of driving P&L results, operational efficiency, and cost management. Exceptional skills in coaching, talent development, and performance management across multi-level leadership teams. Advanced analytical ability to interpret complex data, generate insights, and implement actionable strategies. Exceptional communication, collaboration, and influencing skills, with experience navigating executive-level stakeholder relationships.
