The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and maintaining strong internal controls. This role involves managing a team of accountants, coordinating audits, and providing financial insights to support strategic business decisions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS). Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff; manage workflow and assign tasks to ensure deadlines are met. Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing processes. Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and relevant regulatory requirements. Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits; prepare audit schedules and respond to audit inquiries. Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency through automation and best practices. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis; provide actionable insights to management. Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable; support cash flow management activities. Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, payroll, purchasing, and other departments to ensure cohesive financial operations.

Required Skills/Abilities: Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS), financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team while managing multiple priorities. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights. High level of accuracy and thoroughness in preparing and reviewing financial information. Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members, management, auditors, and external stakeholders. Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Advanced knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros). Strong commitment to maintain ethical standards and compliance with company policies and regulations. Ability to work cross-functionally with other departments and build effective working relationships.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Valid AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
