Job Overview We are seeking a new
Lead Procurement Contract Negotiator
to join our team at Ardmore Roderick. As a
Lead Procurement Contract Negotiator , you join a team of infrastructure solutions experts working to solve our client’s ever evolving project needs.
This opportunity will be located at a client location in downtown
Chicago
and could have potential to be hybrid depending on the specific client, project and team needs.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct market research, investigate best practices and analyze industry trends for specific procurement and contracting efforts Plan, coordinate, and execute major procurement events Monitor vendor performance using department compliance with strategic contracts and spend patterns to develop future procurement strategies Perform highly specialized and complex procurement Lead the evaluation of proposals of major Requests for Proposals (RFP) or strategic
procurement/contract
negotiations for professional services, strategic sourcing events and other types of procurement Provide procurement guidance and consultation to other staff members regarding complex procurement and contractual issues Interpret and administer procurement ordinances and regulations Serve as a liaison with contractors,
bureaus/departments,
leadership and other agencies for contract negotiations, agreements and procurement activities Direct efforts and project plans in special projects related to procurement strategic goals and initiatives Develop and deliver trainings and presentations on procurement and contracting topics to internal staff and external potential vendor audiences Assist with the training of staff and client departments regarding procurement and contracting procedures Ensure regulations and policies are followed Prepare complex reports, data analysis, best practices and recommendations on correspondences and documents to be presented to senior leadership, as requested Serve on committees as a liaison to answer commonly asked questions and serve as a contact person Review data entry, solicitations and contract related information using various
applications/systems Required Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree Five years of procurement, negotiating principles or directly related experience Proficiency in Microsoft Office Knowledge of public procurement, contract development and negotiation principles and practices and knowledge of federal, state and county public procurement laws and procedures Skill in developing and delivering trainings and presentations on procurement and contracting topics Ability to monitor vendor performance, department compliance with strategic contracts and spend patterns to develop future procurement strategy Ability to prepare complex RFPs and contracts Ability to conduct market research, investigate best practices, and analyze industry trends for specific procurement and contracting efforts Ability to plan, coordinate and execute major procurement events Ability to provide process and technical guidance to a group of staff Ability to provide senior-level expertise to employees Ability to serve as a reliable resource for other employees in an area of expertise Have a team player mindset with the ability to communicate proficiently in written and verbal forms Have good to great organizational skills
