Job Description

We prevent family homelessness whenever possible, reduce harm if homelessness cant be avoided by housing families as quickly as possible, mitigate trauma, especially for children, and provide wraparound supports that foster long-term stability.
We provide children and parents with a path to self-sufficiency via two-generation educational programs, housing search and placement support, and connections to vital resources they need to return to their own homes.
Our strategic vision and bold strategies to reduce two-generation homelessness successfully served 5,000 children and parents in Greater Boston last year. This position requires full-time
onsite presence
. FamilyAid’s normal business hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM-5 PM, 40 hours/week, with flexibility to support clients beyond business hours, as needed.
Reporting to a Program Supervisor, the Case Manager works with homeless families temporarily residing at the Center or Shelters to quickly and effectively transition to permanent housing. Utilizing the agencys approved two-generation (2Gen), trauma-informed care model and service plan, the Case Manager ensures that each family member accesses support and resources for daily living and the longer-term supports that will allow them to maintain housing stability and break the cycle of multigenerational poverty.
Success in this role requires demonstrated success in working with complex families, effective trauma-informed care, service planning, critical time intervention, motivational interviewing, data collection and a commitment to address multigenerational homelessness.
The Case Manager ensures that families are supported with services that result in their rapid placement into permanent, stable housing and the cumulation of resources and support that advances the well-being of each family member.
Bachelors degree required. Professional experience in social services in a case management or social worker capacity required.
Professional experience working with homeless, or housing insecure families preferred.
Bilingual in English and Haitian Creole or Spanish required.
Ability to work in office and field-based settings with a diverse homeless population.
Demonstrated experience and proficiency in data collection, analysis and utilization.
