Job Description

We are seeking a skilled MSU RN to join our fast-paced medical-surgical unit. This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with a designated physician team and interact closely with the Emergency Department. Nurses in this unit will manage patients requiring further testing or treatment and will play a crucial role in patient care until they are ready for discharge or need admission upstairs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including IV teams, physical therapy, and respiratory services.
• Manage patient care with a focus on telemetry, dysrhythmia management, and administration of blood products.
• Perform and document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the Epic charting system.
• Utilize skills in non-invasive airway management and isolation precautions.
• Oversee the use of cardiac drips, central line care, and management of peripheral lines.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a similar setting.
• Current New York State nursing license required in hand to apply.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
• Experience with the Epic charting system is required.
• Telemetry experience preferred.
