HR Generalist with experience in the construction field and the ability to run an HR dept independently
Pay: $75,000-$90,000
Position Summary:
The HR Generalist will support day-to-day human resource operations including onboarding, compliance, current state and federal laws, WC, benefits administration, and employee relations. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
Must have a construction background! Key Responsibilities: Coordinate onboarding and orientation for new hires, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately and timely. Provide guidance to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and labor laws. Maintain employee records and ensure HRIS data is up to date. Assist in administering employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, and general inquiries. WC, LOA's, wage garnishments and other employee initiatives Support workplace safety initiatives and help manage workers' compensation claims. Handle employee relations matters professionally and confidentially. Help coordinate training and development initiatives. Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies. Develop company handbook Employee engagement, sit in on employee reviews Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field PHR or SHRM certificate preferred Must have 3+ years of HR experience in the construction field Experienced in managing all aspects of an HR dept independently Knowledge of HR laws and best practices. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual Spanish a plus. Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, etc.) Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
