We are currently hiring a skilled Marine Mechanic to help maintain our fleet of vessels. If you're passionate about marine diesel systems and want to be part of a company with deep roots in the community and waterway logistics, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
* Diagnose, repair, and maintain marine diesel engines, generators, and propulsion systems
* Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections on vessels
* Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, and cooling systems
* Assist with dry dock work, winterization, and seasonal overhauls
* Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with USCG and OSHA standards
* Collaborate with captains and crew to coordinate repairs and avoid operational delays
* Respond to urgent or emergency repair needs, including on-vessel support if needed
Qualifications
* Minimum 3 years of experience in marine or diesel engine repair
* Strong understanding of diesel engines (e.g., CAT, Detroit Diesel, Cummins)
* Familiarity with marine systems: propulsion, hydraulics, pumps, electrical, plumbing
* Ability to read technical manuals and use diagnostic tools
* Able to lift 75 lbs, work in confined engine spaces, and in variable weather
* Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Pass pre-employment and random DOT drug tests
Preferred Qualifications
* Formal marine or diesel mechanic training
* USCG MMC, AB, or QMED credentials
* Welding/fabrication experience
* OSHA 10/30 or EPA certification
