Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift 3x12

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed while embracing the core values of Select Medical. The RN plays a crucial role in promoting patient and employee safety, ensuring high-quality care, and contributing positively to the functioning of the unit.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis for individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnoses through collaboration with patients, families, and the Interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information and status updates for Initial Team Conferences and weekly Re-evaluation Team Conferences.
• Documents all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and provide direct care using the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
• Provide training and supervision for ancillary nursing personnel, ensuring effective delegation and prioritization.
• Maintain a safe environment for both patients and staff in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Contribute to team building activities to foster a positive work environment.
• Assume charge responsibilities as required after the orientation period.
• Pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS required prior to first shift for specific locations.
• Minimum of two years bedside clinical experience.

Schedule

This position requires night shifts in a 3x12 hour format.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
