Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join a dynamic surgical team in Pleasant Prairie, WI. This is a full-time, permanent position for a nurse passionate about delivering exceptional perioperative care and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. The RN will play a critical role in supporting surgical procedures and ensuring patient safety and comfort before, during, and after surgery.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care throughout the surgical process, using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical techs to ensure smooth and efficient surgical procedures.
  • Maintain and monitor sterile fields and enforce strict aseptic techniques.
  • Operate and maintain surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies in the OR.
  • Accurately document all aspects of patient care.
  • Mentor and support new OR nurses and students.
  • Uphold nursing standards and safety protocols in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Keep the operating room environment clean, organized, and fully stocked.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
  • Active RN License in the State of Wisconsin
  • Current BLS and/or CPR certification (AHA or Red Cross)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and critical-thinking skills
  • Physical ability to meet the demands of the OR environment

Preferred:

  • Experience in Operating Room nursing
  • Knowledge of:
    • Perioperative care and patient assessment
    • Emergency response and life support systems
    • Infection control and sterile techniques
    • Medical record keeping and medication administration
    • Critical or acute care nursing
