Contract Research Scientist II / Senior Scientist, Biologics Research Position Summary: Seeking an experienced biologist, virologist, or bioengineer to lead discovery and engineering efforts in next-generation gene therapies for rare diseases. This role involves working within a cross-disciplinary team and conducting wet lab experiments to advance viral vector programs. Key Responsibilities: Lead viral vector engineering projects and high-throughput molecular/cellular screening to identify novel capsids. Perform transfection, transduction, viral titering, and sequencing-based characterization of viral genomes. Apply molecular biology techniques including DNA/RNA extraction, cloning, PCR/qPCR/ddPCR, and NGS library preparation. Conduct mammalian and primary cell culture, and support in vivo studies. Analyze data, document protocols, and present findings to project teams. Contribute to lab operations and mentor junior scientists. Qualifications: PhD in molecular biology, virology, immunology, bioengineering, or related field with 2–6 years of industry experience, or MS with 8+ years. Hands-on experience with viral vectors (AAV preferred), viral vector engineering, and molecular biology workflows. Proficiency with mammalian cell culture, NGS technologies, and genome titering methods (qPCR/ddPCR). Experience in in vivo studies, protein characterization, or functional cell-based assays (flow cytometry, ELISpot, ELISA) is preferred. Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with ability to manage multiple projects.
